Current Students
Chia-Chih Chen
Chia-Chih is a first year Ph. D. student in CommNetS. He joined CVRC in Spring 2006. His research interests include video background modeling and shape-based object recognition. His current research focus is to recognize human-object interaction in a loading zone.
Josh Harguess
Josh is a Ph. D. student working in the areas of tracking and face recognition. He finished his Masters in the Computational and Applied Mathematics program in May 2007. He received his B. Elect. Eng. from Arizona State University in May of 2000. Before joining UT, he worked for National Instruments in Austin, TX for five years as an engineer on various software and hardware projects as well as many extracurricular activites (golf, basketball, volleyball, pub crawls, etc.). He enjoys traveling, eating, biking, music (sxsw.com) and nature.
Jong Taek Lee
Jong Taek is a second year graduate student pursuing his Masters degree in summer 2007. His main research interest is in the recognition of object activities and human-object interaction, especially related in vehicles. He has been also working on a problem of classification of vehicles. He is currently interested in general occlusion handling.
Matthew Riley
Matt is a second year graduate student working towards his Masters degree. His research is focused on content-based multimedia retrieval and analysis.
Wei-Cheng Su
Wei-Cheng is in his second year of Ph. D. study. He is doing research on using multiple cameras to track human activities.
Elden Yu
Elden is a Ph. D. student working on human activity recognition. Most recently he has developed the concept of stable contact points for use in activity recognition, which he currently applies to recognizing persons climbing fences in videos.
